Lil Wayne wrapped up his lawsuit with Cash Money and is now able to FINALLY release Carter V.
Lil Wayne’s lawyer filed legal notice May 23rd stating both parties are prepared to dismiss the lawsuit.
The lawsuit, which took years to settle, did come out in Wayne’s favor. Universal is not only going to release Carter V but settled with Wayne for a sum that has not been clarified but ‘is well over 10 million’.
The lawsuit originally started in 2014 with Cash Money demanding his record deal be voided, stating the label owed him millions because he finished the album but the company refused to release it.
Wayne, however, did not win the rights to Nicki and Drake’s music as originally sought but at least we get to hear the music that Wayne has been waiting to release since his original fallout with Birdman in 2014.
I can’t wait for the album to finally hit the streets.
